Woman As river

A consistent thread through my artwork has been to connect Earth and the sky by illuminating simple, primal forms. The Woman as River series shows Earth’s river and land formations as seen from the stars. These paintings combine satellite imagery with the ancient and widespread belief that natural earth and water formations are female. I flood layers of color across textured surfaces or pour two colors side-by-side to make a subtly blended composition with unexpected elements that emerge during this purposeful process.
